Additional Summer Camps

Parents & Players,

I received an email from a parent with some additional summer camp options.

Mizuno MI Volleyball Club... we haven't had any experience with them, but another family on the 12s team had done a camp there last year and they were happy with it.  I know that a few of the 12s team are registered for the Summer League that runs July 10th - August 9th.

University of Northwestern, St. Paul... Ava did the day camp last year and learned A LOT!  It's a fun camp - and Coach Wilmeth was NCAA DIII Coach of the Year... and the UNW Eagles have been dominant in the UMAC Conference for several years. This year we have a scheduling conflict so can't attend the day camp - but originally we had planned to go back!

Thanks for the Info Laurie!

Summer Camps

Parents & Players,

I've been asked about Summer Camp opportunities. Here is a collection of some camps that I've found.

Burnsville High School will be offering a camp July 16-19th for grades 1-12.  CLICK HERE for details and times about this camp.

MVI (Midwest Volleyball Instructors) has player camps.  All Thunder coaches went to the Coaches Clinic put on by MVI.  The clinic is well run and provides great information.  I'm assuming their summer camps for players are also exceptional. CLICK HERE for more information about summer camps from MVI.

Northern Lights also offers many different camps through out the summer.  CLICK HERE for details about these camps.

The NCR Area website has a page that shows some summer camps.  CLICK HERE to view the page from NCR that lists the camps.  I'm assuming that this page will be updated as more camps are added.

I pulled some of the information that was provided, however we do NOT have any experience with any of these camps.  They are for colleges that have good volleyball programs so I would think they would be good.  If anyone has been to any of these camps please let me know what your experience was.

Survey/Feedback

Parents & Players,

We understand that there are many different volleyball clubs and opportunities to pick from.  We see a huge value in playing with our local community program, and we would like to get feedback from you to make sure what we value and spend time on is the same thing that you value.

We want to know what things we should START doing, STOP doing and CONTINUE doing.  If we are spending time on something that no one values then we want to know.  Similarly if something is good and people like it we want to make sure we continue doing that!

We have a couple of different surveys that we hope you can spend time (5 minutes or less) to provide input.  Please provide candid, helpful feedback, with examples if possible.  We appreciate and value all of the feedback you provide for us & for you in the future!

COACHES SURVEY
One survey is for the coaches and how they met the goals laid out by Postivie Coaching Alliance.  This survey can be filled out by players, parents, and for each of the coaches if you had multiple ones.

CLUB/ORGANIZATION SURVEY
The second survey is for Parents to provide input regarding the Club/Oraganization.  This survey may look long, but don't let that scare you away.  We have 22 questions that are tied to general topics and offerings that are simple drop down list where you can pick your answer.  We have 9 free form questions to allow you to provide more detailed input to various topics (we are not expecting input an all of these but would love to hear ). At the end we have three questions relating to next season.

Thanks again for a great season, and for your feeback.  We hope that you have a great summer and we look forward to seeing you this fall during the High School season.

Jim
